Assembly

of a wood frame waterbed manufactured by Woodforms
These illustrations focus on the assembly of the waterbed frame.

The pedestal, (barely shown) should be centered within the four-board frame when the frame is resting on the floor directly below it's final position. We advise against moving the assembled bed when it is on the pedestal.
Assemble the four boards together span class="BoldText">on the floor around the pedestal or exactly where the frame will go in the room. Attach the large corner brackets to the ends of the side boards (long boards). use at least three 1 1/4"  #10 sheet metal screws for each board.
Allow for a 1/16" - 1/8 "offset between the end of the board and the bracket. Pre-drilling or tapping will help center  and align the bracket
Pre-drilling the center hole first allows for a straighter bracket
With the center screw in place, pre-drill the outer two screw holes.
After all four brackets are in place on the side boards, attach the footboard  to the side boards. Then attach the side boards to the board at the head (Dummy Board). Spread the screws to the top and bottom of the upper and lower holes to lock the bracket to the board.
The corners should be flush and square. The most visible corner are at the foot so be sure to make these are even.
For lifting the frame onto the pedestal, place the deck on the frame and the pedestal.
Overlap the decking pieces and slide them over the Dummy Board.
Lift the foot of the frame and slide at least one piece of decking under the frame to support it
Slide the other two pieces (only one for Super Single) to the foot.
Side view
Lift the head of the frame and carefully spread the decking to fill the space.
It is important to note that the side boards hang down outside the deck.
The head and foot boards (Short Boards) support the frame.
This is the bottom view of the deck at the foot.
The deck is snug with the lip of the foot board.
Attach a small corner bracket to the middle of each board and the decking.
Small screws go into the deck first with a small offset. The offset allows the board to be pulled tightly into the deck.
Long screws go into the boards.
Using small screws here would be a critical error unless multiple brackets are used on each board.
Attach a minimum of one corner bracket on each board to the deck.Additional brackets cannot hurt.
The heater cannot be placed across the seam(s) of the deck.
The heater-control sensor should be at least one foot from the heater pad.
Plug in the heater for a short time to assure the heater is warming.  Then unplug the heater before filling the mattress
The safety liner is the placed over the heater; smooth, flat and square
The water mattress is carefully centered within the frame.
If the the mattress is not square and even, you will not be able to move it once filled.
Do not leave the bed unattended while it is being filled.
Before the bed is completely filled, use a smooth, straight object to push the air out of the fill hole.
This is called bleeding the air.
Do not overfill.  We fill our beds with 7.5 to 8 inches of water.
Keep your bed covered to save electricity. Most people will set the heaters around 86 degrees. Sleep well!
